How do I get html written in notepad to show as a page on my browser?

Learning web page design, been asked to use notepad as editor.I save files containing HTML tags a name ending in .html ,but the editor always saves the file as a text document with the extension .txt .My browser then shows it as a text doc and not as a web page. Can anyone tell me were iam going wrong ?

Other Replys:use the (save as) option and save it as html. On the save menu select save as %26quot;All files%26quot; and save it as html.

Other Replys:When you%26#039;re using %26quot;Save As%26quot; and under the File name: Type your filename between double quotes with the extension you wish to save under (in your case it should be .htm or .html).

For example, when saving as, use under File name: %26quot;MyPage.htm%26quot;
