I setup and ran a successful website for a couple years, when my supplier (business partner) wished to take over my site. We agreed to a monthly salary, while I worked on marketing and after two years transfer of domain. The monthly salary is to continue until I don%26#039;t want to work for the company anymore, or it%26#039;s not there anymore. The business is doing well. Everyone is making money. Actually I%26#039;m making more then the business partner, thus he wants to get rid of me. He%26#039;s not paid other people in my situation in the past, so I feel when I transfer the domain he has no reason to keep paying my salary we agreed upon. We have a contract. A cheap 3 page one that looked like it was written by a 5th grader. I don%26#039;t consider the contract binding, so if he does stiff me, I feel I%26#039;m out of luck. I have to transfer the domain to him in 2 days... but I don%26#039;t trust him. And I don%26#039;t trust the contract to hold up his deal. What should I do?
I%26#039;m 75% he%26#039;s drop me if he had the chance.
I have a feeling I%26#039;m going to be left with nothing. Business partner wants to screw me?
a contract is a contract, whether it%26#039;s written by a 5th grader or a lawyer and your signatures are on it. if the contract is simple and not ambigious then it is actually more binding since a complex contract is hard to understand. here%26#039;s the thing though...
can he not sell the company? sell the domain? transfer it to someone else%26#039;s name? i think you should sell it to him rather than transfer and consider a monthly salary for working there, if he decides to keep you.
