Web Design U.I.?

I%26#039;ve been doing more and more web design and user interface (u.i.) design. Specifically u.i. for web based programs. I%26#039;m looking for a good book for designers (not programmers) on u.i. for web design and web based programs. I already have a degree in design so I hoping to find something that does not sped a lot of pages on basic elements of design.

Web Design U.I.?

For starters, get %26quot;Don%26#039;t Make Me Think%26quot; by Steve Krug. (Subtitle: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability)

Some others to consider, most of which are advanced enough that you won%26#039;t feel like you are rehashing overly familiar concepts:

The Design of Sites: Patterns for Creating Winning Web Sites

http://www.amazon.com/Design-Sites-Patte...

Designing Web Navigation: Optimizing the User Experience

Designing Web Navigation: Optimizing the User Experience by James Kalbach and Aaron Gustafson

http://www.amazon.com/Designing-Web-Navi...

The Principles of Beautiful Web Design by Jason Beaird

http://www.amazon.com/Design-Sites-Patte...

If it%26#039;s not already your habit to do so- I%26#039;d suggest just spending a little time researching books through a site like Amazon.com- use the %26quot;look inside%26quot; feature to read snippets from the book to make sure the writing style is something you find digestible and will be willing to read all the way through.

Also, if you want to save some dough, check out the prices (compare prices from various retailers) through http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/
